The Truth Ratings Website Project

On June 8, 2008 Ben Buras joined the forum and proposed this project in his first post. He said "While reading The Dueling Loops book, I thought of a way that I could contribute. I could create a truth ratings website that would attempt to set truth ratings for politicians (from the present time forward)."

Robert Gowans has also pitched in. Both Ben and Rob are web developers, though Rob has additional expertise in internet marketing.

The thread on the project is here.

Documents

The website is the easy part. What's behind it is where the real work is.

The first document is Getting Started with the Politician Ratings Website PDF . This 8 pager presents the basic idea, the key strategies, and begins the design of the ratings process.

The second is Prototype Vision for the Politician Ratings Website. 5 pages. This paints a vision of where we would like to be in less than a year.

Dueling Loops Paper

The most popular page on the site by a factor of 3. This paper presents a simple model showing why activists have been unable to solve the sustainability problem, and an alternative solution strategy based on high leverage points.

Change Resistance Paper

This explains why the crux of the sustainability problem is change resistance, rather than what conventional wisdom thinks it is. That's why the problem has remained unsolved for over 30 years. The paper describes a high leverage point that's never been pushed on before that can solve the change resistance problem.

The Powell Memo

The most eye popping short read (7 pages) on the site, if you have never heard about it. The memo was written in 1971.

Dueling Loops Videos

These average 8 minutes. They give a quick introduction to the Dueling Loops model and how it explains the tremendous change resistance to solving the sustainability problem.
