Order the Book

The manuscript to Analytical Activism is complete. A pre-publication edition is now available.

This is a large book, at 362 pages and 8 1/2" by 11". The text is designed to be very readable, without any specialist knowledge, so that we can reach a wide audience.

The book is loaded with detail, including several hundred illustrations. About a third of these are simulation model diagrams and behavior graphs, similar to those in Limits to Growth. The difference is Limits to Growth modeled the technical side of the problem, while Analytical Activism models the social side, because that is the crux of the problem. A key model diagram, The Dueling Loops of the Political Powerplace, is shown on the front cover.

The purpose of the pre-publication edition is to gain valuable feedback on the book. How well does it convey its message? Where might its analysis, argument, or educational material be improved? If you would like to read a copy, provide feedback, and help solve the sustainability problem, then we look forward to hearing from you. Whatever your suggestions are, they have the potential to greatly influence what is in the final book, just as earlier suggestions already have.

You can download the complete manuscript and print it yourself, or you can order the book, complete with full color cover. You can contact us and order a copy, which is easier than ordering through Lulu, and if we have one in stock, faster.

The book is also available by print-on-demand through Lulu Press. Please go to the Analytical Activism page, click on Add to Cart, then click on Checkout and take it from there. The price is $20 plus postage. Postage in the continental US is less than $5.00 for media mail (slow) and about $8.00 for US Postal Priority (fast).

Lulu has satellite printers in Europe, including Spain and a new one in the UK, so postage to Europe is reasonable. But outside of Europe and North America it may be so high that you might be better off printing the complete manuscript yourself. You can find out what your postage would be by starting a Lulu order but not completing it. If it's high, abort the order and print it yourself. For example, postage to Melbourne, Australia is about $40.
